Nextcloud Search Page 2.4.0 is out. The headline feature is an experimental inline search modal with per-app configuration — instead of always navigating to the full search page, you can now trigger a quick search modal directly from wherever you are in Nextcloud, and configure which apps it searches.

Alongside that:

Since/until query parameters

Search results can now be filtered by a date range, either via the UI or directly through the URL.

Since and until parameters

Support for Nextcloud limited to version 33 and up

The goal is to reduce the time spent testing.

Labels

The codebase now enforces the ellipsis character instead of three dots (...). Automatic releases based on the amount of label changes is temporarily disabled until Transifex picks up the new labels.

Dependency and translation updates

Routine dependency bumps and translation refreshes, with thanks as always to the Transifex translators.

EXPERIMENTAL - Inline search hi-jack

The inline search modal is still experimental — feedback from real usage will decide whether it will stay.

search popup

Inline search is opt-in. Enable it in the settings page. You can configure the pages where thesearchpage overrides the out-of-the-box unified search

If you try it, let me know how it goes.
